For treatment applications of Talstar Pro, you can use a hand-pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or a backpack sprayer. Spray rigs can be used for large volume applications. If using Talstar Pro to treat termites through trenching, you will need a pickaxe or shovel to dig a trench, and a bucket with at least a 5 gallon capacity. Termite injection tools for treating under slabs will also be needed.
How to Use
Step 1: First, determine how much Talstar Pro you need by measuring the treatment area. You can do this by multiplying the length and width of your selected area to get the total square footage (length x width = square footage.) For general pest control indoors and outdoors, we recommend spraying at either a 0.02% dilution at 0.33 fl. oz. in a gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft., or a 0.06% dilution at 1 fl. oz. per 1 gallon of water to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Use the higher rate for a heavy pest infestation, a quicker knockdown or longer residual control. For example, if you have a 2,000 square foot area to be treated at a 0.06% dilution, you would need 2 oz of Talstar Pro mixed with 2 gallons of water.
Step 2: Now that you have finished measuring your treatment area, it is time to create your solution. Fill your tank with the required amount of water, then add your measured amount of Talstar Pro. Shake well to create a thorough solution. If you choose to mix in an additional product, such as an insect growth regulator, add it to the solution and shake again.
Step 3: Apply the Talstar Pro mixture as a coarse, low-pressure spray to your target areas. Spray common entry points, such as windows, doors, voids where plumbing penetrates the walls, and eaves. For perimeter treatments, spray 2 to 3 feet up the structure's foundation, and spray 6 to 10 feet out. For indoor spraying, only use Talstar Pro as a crack-and-crevice or spot spray to areas pests like to hide, such as under appliances, under sinks, on baseboards, or around doors and windows.
Where to Use
Talstar Pro can be used for residential, industrial, livestock, barn, commercial, and food-handling areas. It can be sprayed around doors, windows, wall voids, and weep holes. It is ideal for outdoor treatments on surface areas around building structures such as exterior siding, foundations, porches, trees, flowerbeds, and shrubs.
When to Use
Use Talstar Pro as a quick knockdown treatment when you notice insect activity. It can also be used as a preventative treatment plan for fleas with a residual that lasts for up to 90 days and house fly control that lasts for up to 30 days. Re-treating areas should occur no more than once every 7 days when there are signs of new insect activity. When spraying outdoors, it is best to apply Talstar Pro in the morning when temperatures and wind speeds are generally low.
Talstar Pro is safe around children and pets when used according to the product label. Read the product label before making any applications, as Talstar Pro can be applied to various surfaces in different ways. Allow the product to completely dry before re-entering the treated area. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying Talstar Pro.
Individuals and companies need the proper licensing before using Talstar Pro as an outdoor termiticide around the perimeter of a building structure.
