Tools are not required for the use of Apex Cockroach Gel Bait as it comes ready-to-use. However, you will want to wear gloves for skin protection.
How to Use
- Step 1: Thoroughly clean and sanitize areas being treated using water and mild soap to eliminate competing food sources before applying the bait. Household cleaners or detergents will deter roaches from consuming the bait.
- Step 2: Calculate the square footage of the area you want to treat. You can do this by measuring and multiplying the length and width together (length x width = square footage). This will determine the amount of Apex gel bait you will need to cover the area. For German cockroaches, 37 drops of bait equals to 0.0522 oz. which can cover 100 sq. ft. of area.
- Step 3: Remove cap from the bait applicator, then place pea-size dots every square yard of area (3 feet x 3 feet) being treated. For severe infestations, use 37-56 drops every 100 square feet, depending on which roach you are targeting. Place bait under baseboards, sinks, countertops, cabinets, around water pipes, cracks and crevices.
- Step 4: Leave the bait to do its job. You want the cockroaches to feed on the bait so that they can return to the nest and infect as many possible. In about 5 days you should expect to see a reduction in roach activity. Check your bait placements every 1-2 weeks and reapply as needed. Continue to bait until roach activity has stopped.
Where to Use
Apex Cockroach Gel Bait can be used in homes, schools, hospitals, commercial kitchens, hotels, and any indoor or outdoor area where cockroach activity has been observed. It can be applied in the four corners of cabinets, drawers, cracks and crevices around baseboards and countertops, where most of the activity is seen. Do not place where food is prepared or where dishes and utensils can touch it. Apex Cockroach Gel Bait can also be placed behind wall sockets and in wall voids by plumbing pipes.
When to Use
Apex Cockroach Gel Bait can be used as often as needed when cockroaches or cockroach activity has been spotted. Apex is recommended for active infestations, not preventative control. Apex bait placements are effective up until dry. It is recommended to check the bait placements every 14 days to be cleaned if dry and reapplied.
Apex Cockroach Gel Bait is safe for pets and humans as long as it is applied as directed. Apply bait in places where pets and children cannot reach.
Place a higher number of dots when infestations are heavy and/or when roaches are living primarily in wall voids or other inaccessible areas. Numerous small dots work more effectively than a few large dots
